Long before "Hell Froze Over" the Eagles created one of my favorite concept albums. Not sure what about concept albums really hooks me in but I do tend to really enjoy them. Definitely an album type that will rear its ugly head several more times.
Desperado was the Eagles second studio album. The cover is adorned with the band in Wild West outfits holding rifles and looking as much like Outlaw Man(s) as they could. Glenn Frey wanted to show off the bands artistic chops and tell the story of the Dalton brothers. "Certain Kind of Fool" tells the story of a poor boy who found his way out by being good with the steel. The American story, rags to riches with a gun in his hand. It brough him money and fame but as we learn, it's a certain kind of fool who loves to hear the sound of his own name.
